I. General Information
What is a Blog?
A Blog is like a web page where you can publish your thoughts together with images about any topic of your interest. You can share your school projects, your trips, your professional life, your political affiliation or any other subject with any person in the world that can access the Internet and visit your Blog.

Who can create a Blog in Terra?
Anybody can get a Blog in Terra. It's really easy! You only need to use your Terra ID and password to access the service and create your Blog. If you are not a Terra user you can register here. It's free!

What happens with inactive Blogs?
Blogs that remain inactive for more than 60 days will be automatically turned off.

Does Terra control the texts, comments, and images posted in the service?
Terra is not obligated control the content published (both written and graphic)on the Blog service. However, we supervise published Blogs periodically with the purpose of eliminating those Blogs which contents are contrary to morally correct standards. Terra wants to offer a community that is cordial to promote a safe exchange of interests. Because of this, through abusive content elimination, Terra aims to avoid that Blogs are used to publish xenophobic or pornographic content, that violate the privacy or reputation of other parties, or that are injurious to any person or community.
In all Terra services it is categorically prohibited to publish any sort child pornography or pedophilia, any racist material, or any other content that is against the Law or may insult other users.
However, if an uninformed user does not respect these recommendations, Terra Networks US has the faculty to eliminate any content that violates the Terms of Service or that is in any aspect disrespectful.
Terra cannot eliminate the comments that other visitors leave in your Blog, therefore, if your Blog contains any abusive comments and they are not eliminated by you or the Blog's owner, Terra will have the right to eliminate the entire Blog with its contents.

II. Using your Blog
How can I create a Blog?
1. Go to http://blog.terra.com
2. Enter your Terra ID and password. If you are not a member, please visit our registration page and register now. It's free!
3. During your first visit to the Blog site, you'll see the Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before accepting or rejecting them.
4. If you accept the Terms, in the next page you'll see a welcome message and a button that says "Create Blog". If you click there you will find the identification fields to be filled to create your Blog:
- You must create a title that will be the Blog's name which will appear at the top of your Blog once created.
- You should select an ID that will constitute your Blog's URL (i.e.: http://identification.blog.terra.com). The ID must have minimum of 4 characters, composed by only letters and numbers. The system will let you know if there is another Blog with the same ID.
- Then you should write a short description for your Blog, for example "My personal Blog" or "My favorite team". Below this you can define the language and the time zone. Next, you have to choose which channel you would like to list or classify your Blog
- To finalize you must decide if your Blog will appear or not on the Blog's search results.
- Click on "Create".
5. In the next screen you will see all the design options you have to choose from for your Blog. You must select one; this can always be changed on your Properties after the Blog is created.
6. After selecting a template you will have to create your first post using the text editor which is used like any other editor. You can change the font, size, and color for the message and also upload images for your posting.
7. Done! You finished the process. Click on "My Blog" to visualize the interface other visitors will see.
8. To be able to edit your Blog you must click on "Edit Blog". You will find the options of "edit" or "eliminate" your Blog and begin a new one. Please, remember that if you eliminate your Blog you will not be able to recuperate it or any information posted on it.

How do I access my Blog's control panel?
In the home page there are two fields to enter your Terra ID and password. If you want to administer your Blog you must login first. After being authenticated you will see all the options to edit your Blog on the left hand side of the page, as well as the Statistics and Comments published by visitors.

How do I publish a post?
Follow the next steps to make a post:
1. Access http://blog.terra.com;
2. Enter your Terra ID and password;
3. 3. After creating a Blog (if you don't have one yet please check How can I create a Blog?) click on the text editor and write any text you want to show in your post;
4. You can publish an image by clicking on "Add Image" and selecting one of the images from your computer. When you click on one of the files' titles, the image will be automatically added to your post;
5. You can select one or more categories to classify your post on the Post Categories module on the right side of the text editor;
6. You can choose to keep your post as a draft in the Post Status module on the right side of the text editor;
7. Also on the right side you can choose if that post will accept comments or not. This option applies to all visitors;
8. To finalize click on "Send". Done! Now your post is published.

Which type of files can be posted?
In addition to the text you can include on a post, you can also upload images with the following formats: TIF, BMP, JPG, PNG, and GIF.

Can I change post once it is published?
Yes, you can add, modify, substitute and erase texts and images from any post in your Blog.

How many posts per day can I make?
You can make up to a 100 posts with texts and images.

How many Blogs can I create?
Each user can only have one Blog.

What is my Blog's space quota?
Terra Blog has a space limit of 10MB for files and images. There is no limit for total posts as long as you don't exceed 10MB.

III. The Control Panel
What can I do with my Blog's control panel?
You can change your profile, the appearance of your Blog (design and title), properties, files, post categories, and consult your Blog's statistics regarding total access on a weekly and monthly basis. You can also administer the comments other users make on your posts.

Can I select my Blog's template?
To edit your Blog's look and feel please follow these steps:
1. Access the service with your Terra ID and password.
2. Click on "Edit".
3. Click on "Templates" on the left menu
4. You will see the different templates available that you can use for your Blog.
5. Click on the one you want to use and you are done.

What are my Blog's properties?
When you "Edit" your Blog, you will have access to your Blog's properties located on the left menu. They are:
- Title: Name for your Blog which will show at the top of your published Blog page.
- Description: You can add a brief description about your Blog's content.
- Channel: You can determine which channel your Blog will belong to.
- Language: You can select among 3: Spanish, English and Portuguese.
- Time Zone: Please select the time zone in which you are located.
- You must also have to decide if your Blog will be available or not in the search results.

How can I change my Blog's properties?
To change your Blog's properties follow the next steps:
1. Access the service with your Terra ID and password.
2. Click on "Properties" within "Edit".
3. After making your changes please click on "Update".

How can I change my profile's properties?
To change your profile's properties follow the next steps:
1. Access the service with your Terra ID and password.
2. Click on "Edit Profile", located on the left menu within "Edit" or from the home.

How can I see my posts' comments?
1. Access the service with your Terra ID and password.
2. Click on "Edit".
3. Click on "Comments". You will see all the comments and you will be able to erase undesired comments.

How can I administer my posts' comments?
In the post editing area you will be able to limit other users' ability to comment on a specific post. This permission is general to all or no visitors.

How can I erase my posts' comments?
1. Access the service with your Terra ID and password.
2. Click on "Edit".
3. Click on "Comments".
4. You will find a list of all comments where you will have the choice to eliminate specific undesired comments.

How can I post via mobile into my Blog?
1. Access the service with your Terra ID and password.
2. Click on "Edit".
3. Click on "Post via Mobile". In this page you can activate the function to post via mobile. You must also select a password for this purpose. Your password will be part of the email address you will use to post via mobile on your Blog.
4. The number of characters on your password must be more or equal to 5, you can use letters, numbers and signs. The password is case sensitive.
5. Below you can decide if you want to automatically publish the posts made via mobile or if you prefer to keep them as drafts.
6. After configuring your password, you can post via mobile sending an email to: blog.yourpassword@blogs.terra.com.
7. To send an email using your cell phone you must go to Menu, then go to Messages or Text Messages, and then select 'Send or Create Email'.
8. You should use the complete address you just configured above, write your post and then send it. It will be published in a few minutes.
Note to T-Mobile Users: In some cell phone models, when you send a message via email you get an alert or message asking you for your "E-mail Server Number. In many cases this number is 500. If your mobile does not accept this number you should call T-Mobile's Customer Service (611 from your mobile) to find out the "E-mail Server Number" to send emails from your cell phone model.

Who can post in a Blog using a mobile?
Only the Blog author, or if he/she chooses to, a friend, if the author shares the password with this person.

What are the posting categories?
When you are creating a post, you can select one or more categories to classify it. When you created your Blog and chose a channel you were assigned a set of categories associated with such channel but they can be changed. You can always create more or remove these pre-determined categories to classify your posts doing the following:
1. Access the service with your Terra ID and password.
2. Click on "Edit".
3. Click on "Categories". You will see a list of categories that you can remove or edit by clicking on the respective buttons.
4. You can also create more personalized categories filling out the field for such purpose on the same page.

Can I change my Blog's URL?
No, you can't. This operation cannot be done on Blogs. If you want to change it, you should "Eliminate" your actual Blog and create a new one.
Please remember that if you eliminate your Blog you will not be able to recuperate its contents, images, or information.

What information can I include on my profile?
Once you create a Blog, you will see a link to complete your profile. Thanks to this data, the visitors that see your Blog will have access to a few personal details such as name, last name, language and a brief welcome message. You have up to 250 characters to write a message or Blog description.

What information can I find on the statistics page?
You will find the number of weekly and monthly visits to your Blog. To access the statistics link follow the next steps:
1. Access the service with your Terra ID and password.
2. Click on "Edit".
3. Click on "Statistics" to see your Blog's metrics.

Can my Blog be public or private?
You can only select if you want your Blog to appear or not on the search results.

How can I distribute my Blog among my friends?
The best way is to send an email to all your friends with your Blog's URL.

How can I erase my posts?
1. Access the service with your Terra ID and password.
2. Click on "Edit" and you'll see all the posts that you have done.
3. Click on "Eliminate" on the post you want to erase.
4. Done! You will see a confirmation at the top on the page that will say "This post has been eliminated".

How can I find a Blog?
You can search for it by keyword. The fast search looks in all fields (title, posts, and user profile). You can also try the advanced search, where you choose the fields you want to search.
It is also possible to restrict the search to time zones, channels and date of publication. It is only possible to search for posts made on the last 14 days. You can decide how many results you want to see per page (10, 25, 50 or 100).

How can I close my session?
When you access the service with your ID and password, you start a session. During your session you can edit and navigate through your Blog. The service knows who you are and facilitates the posting process on your Blog. When you are done you can click on "Logout" on the left menu to close the session.

How can I erase my Blog?
1. Access the service with your Terra ID and password.
2. Click on "Eliminate"
3. Confirm your decision.
Important: After you erase a Blog, it is impossible to recuperate any information or reverse the operation.
